As in 2017, the SOFA community participated in the 2019 edition of the open-source conference FOSDEM. This year again, FOSDEM appeared as a major European event for open-source softwares where thousands of developers meet, share ideas and collaborate.

On the 2-3rd February 2019, the SOFA Consortium in collaboration with the Defrost team and InfinyTech3D held a booth with several demonstrations. Erik Pernod highlighted his work coupling SOFA and Unity3d, the Defrost team (Damien, Felix, Eulalie, Bruno and Bruno) presented their achievements in soft-robotics and the Consortium staff showcased a simulation based on the open-source version of SOFA with the LeapMotion.
