Hi SOFA Forum,
I am working on modelling a cable-driven soft gripper but have been experiencing some difficulties. I have installed v19.04 SOFA from binaries for MacOS provided in the link below, so that I am able to use the SoftRobots plugin:
So far, I have completed several tutorials with no problems, but I need the CGAL plugin in order to start working on my own project which I have had trouble trying to install. I have installed all the build tools and dependencies required for SOFA, and I have followed these guidelines up to about bullet point 5:
I have downloaded the sources for CGAL-4.7, and created a folder in my Homebrew directory to build a plugin. I have also built the plugin with the CMake command in terminal. Since I have downloaded a compiled version of SOFA, I don’t know where my build directory for SOFA install is, and I am facing difficulties with using CMake, and setting the variables and paths needed as well as the compilation itself (I have no real experience in computer *things* and I’m struggling to understand how and where to do this).
Any tips or advice on how I can begin to do this are really appreciated.
I would also not mind alternatives to mesh generation options (other than CGAL) or any suggestions/advice you have.
Thanks very much in advance,
Sara
