Hi guys,
I am doing some experiments about registration using Sofa.
But I didn’t get the meaning of the data sets listed in the plugins\Registration\examples\data directory. As I understood, the femur_f means the fixed file and femur_m means the moving file, right? But what’s femur_m_res? I noticed the registration is done by the femur_f and femur_m_res. I have different mesh file(before and after deformation) in .vtu format. So how can I obtain the file like femur_m_res?
Thanks!
Hi Lujain,
I did not create myself the scene and files, but it seems from the different example scenes that these files are surface meshes corresponding to different configuration of a femur. Most the example scenes use the femur_f
as the target of the registration process.
Your own meshes (vtu) are surface of volumetric meshes ?
The meshes in these registration examples are surface meshes, you could use surface vtu meshes in the same way using a VTKLoader instead of the ObjLoader.

Hi Hugo,
Yes you are right. The femur_f seems always be the target of the registration process.
My meshes are the surface extracted from the volumetric meshes. But I am confused at that femur_m_res file
Anyway, thanks,hugo

Lujain
The mesh is just another configuration, the naming shouldn’t bother you. Do you need any further info? would you like to close the topic?
I meant the femur_m_res has the same number of points as the femur_f, but femut_m isn’t.
Hi Lujain,
femur_m is maybe used to show that the number of nodes between the origin and target mesh can be different.
