On 16th of June, the SOFA project was present on the Inria booth at the 2023 edition of Vivatech. VivaTech is the world’s rendezvous for startups and leaders to celebrate innovation. Each year, Vivatech gathers academic and industrial partners at the heart of innovation.

A live demonstration was demonstrating the potential of SOFA open-source codes. Entirely implemented by InfinyTech3D, this proof of concept presented a medical simulation of a cholecystectomy (i.e. surgical removal of the gallbladder) with haptic feedback and a Unity3D-based rendering.
