The use of deformations in robotics is one of the most active fields of application and research. To train the next generation of researchers and engineers, the PEPR O2R, Inria, CNRS, Centrale Lille and the University of Lille are joining forces to organize a summer school. During one week, participants will attend lectures and practical sessions on the fundamental concepts (modelling, simulation and control) necessary for the use of deformable materials in soft robotics, continuum robotics, hybrid rigid/deformable robotics as well as in rigid robotics interacting with a deformable environment.
The keynotes and lectures will be given in English given the intended European audience. Research engineers, young and senior researchers, Ph.D. students are all welcome to the summer school.
Important Information
Before registering, a 2-page abstract must be submitted. An overview of the PhD project, even at an early stage, is an appropriate submission. It is not mandatory to show new or previously unpublished results.
- upon request, the participants may convert their abstract submission to a poster contribution after registration
- for the poster session, contributions by PhD students will be prioritized.
The abstract/poster should summarize or present an ongoing research topic and reflect the link to the topic of the Summer School. If there are more registrations than available places, the abstracts will be used for selecting participants. Concerning the selection process:
- we will check the adequacy between the summer school topic and the submitted contributions
- between two adequate submissions, the earliest one will prevail.
