Home › Forum › SOFA › Building SOFA › [SOLVED] Build Error in Visual Studio 2008
Tagged: VS2008
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to build the SOFA version downloaded from the Git by following the steps mentioned on the web. I have installed all the required repositories. But whenever I try to build the SOFA with Visual Studio 2008, I got these errors in 58 Projects:
H:\SOFA\sofa\SofaGeneral\..\modules\SofaBaseLinearSolver/MatrixLinearSolver.h(479) : error C2487: ‘sofa::core::behavior::LinearSolver::partial_solve’ : member of dll interface class may not be declared with dll interface
I got this errors in 58 Projects of SOFA. I am not be able to figure out the problem.
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.
Thanks.
Regards,
Bushra
Hi Bushra,
I am sorry but SOFA does not support VS 2008 anymore.
We are now using VS 2012 (and soon VS2013 and VS2015).
Best regards,
Hugo
Hi Hugo,
Thanks for your reply. I have built SOFA using VS 2012. I want to test the Xitact Plugin using my Xitact device. I enabled the plugin but i am not be able to get it compiled because it gives a linking error, “Cannot open a file SofaComponentMain.lib” When I checked for SofaComponentMain folder in SOFA Directory I just found one file there with name config.h which is empty. Can you guide me how to resolve this error?
Thanks
Regards,
Bushra

This is another question.
I reposted it here: https://www.sofa-framework.org/forum/topic/linking-error-with-xitact-plugin/
