Tagged: 64_bits, Plugin_other, SOFA_1712, Windows_10
Good morning, everyone.
I would like to make a 3d incision on an organ via sofa. However, I have read a lot of articles about it and I can’t implement them. I would like to make an incision using the mouse cursor as a scalpel. I have seen some with haptic but unfortunately this tool is difficult for our country to have.
Please can someone give me some advice or articles and examples to help me do this?
Thank you in advance.
Sorry for the delay of my reply, we have been busy with the SOFA Week. You can find out more about this annual community event on SofaFramework’s YouTube account.
Topological changes are a very hot topic currently.
Independent developers of the community are working on it. API for 2D/3D topological change is working, as well as associated mappings. However, the interaction and (most importantly) the computation of the cut trajectory+remeshing is ongoing.
It is time consuming, but support is welcome on this topic !
You can already see some examples in the folder examples/Components/topology/TopologicalModiers/

Hi,
sorry I wanted to reply and the SOFA week happened.
As Hugo told, the main principals are in SOFA but some parts are missing like the tetra refinement and “split on path”.
The main issue I see with your question is how will you control the depth of cut using a mouse?
best regards,
