hey, can anyone please tell me what components do i need to simulate wheat dough in SOFA? The dough has elastic properties but it should also deform and stay deformed up to a certain level but as my dough is just elastic so it just recovers completely to it’s original shape.
Properties of dough are:
• residual deformation is involved.
• bouncing displacement is involved.
• vibrations decrease.
which components do i need to get this kinda behaviour?
I’ve tried all the example scenes, nothing shows that kinda behaviour.
these kinda objects are called rheological objects
Hi there,
what you want to do is to simulate plasticity.
It is possible with the “Flexible” plugin (maybe there are other implementations I am not aware of).
Have a look to the example Sofa/applications/plugins/Flexible/examples/strain/plastic.scn.
If you need more specific parameters to set up the plasticity, you will need to implement your own “PlasticStrainMapping”.
