Hello Sofa Community,
Thanks for your awesome work!
I’ve been studying Continuum Mechanics for about a year enough to feel comfortable enough to use Sofa but now I wonder if I need to study Finite Element Method as well. I’m asking because I’m seeing stuff about forward/backward Euler schemes that I’m yet to study.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback @olumide
The need in theoretical background will depend on what you expect to user / achieve / implement.
FEM is definitely a plus and you will have a nice CV for every lab and company in our community! Do not hesitate to let us know if you are looking for something specific.
Best wishes,
Hugo
Thanks for your reply @Hugo.
I have started studying the documentation in conjunction with the Sofa paper and it’s now obvious to me that I definitely need to study FEM because Sofa is a whitebox framework.
