Tagged: 64_bits, ForceFeedback, Haptic, Sensable, SOFA_1608, Windows_10
Hi,
We’re using the NewOmniDriver to interface with the Geomagic Touch devices in our project. We need to retrieve and use the value of the force feedback at a particular moment outside of the NewOmniDriver class but we are unable to get the value in a different plugin. It would be helpful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Sayak
Dear Sayak,
With the latest version of Geomagic Touch I advise you to use the Geomagic plugin. It has recently been released in the v16.12. All information can be found here.
Example scenes are provided to help you build a simulation with force feedback.
Let me know if this helps.
Cheers,
Hugo
Hi Hugo,
Thanks for responding to the post. As our application already uses the existing NewOmniDriver, I decided to proceed with it in order to keep the changes to a minimum. I was able to get the force feedback values in a different plugin by including the Sensable and Open Haptics drivers as library dependencies. Then I was able to follow the driver SingleLink from the scene file and get the instance of the driver and thus the force feedback.
Thanks,
Sayak
Very nice to hear!
Do not hesitate to post further issues or help other users 😉
Best wishes from France,
Hugo
