Hello everyone!
I am working on a simulation project involving needle inserted into a soft tissue, mainly focusing on the needle deformation and interaction force. I’ve read several related published papers and unsurprisingly they didn’t talk much details about the collision configuration.
I have already build a basic simulation scene with the help of online documentation, example code and ,of course, the useful forum:). But I still have no idea about how to handle the needle-tissue interation process:
– what kind of collision should i choose?
– how to simulate the needle going though the tissue with cutting and friction forces? Is there any related example recommended?
Thanks in advance!
Xavier
Now,Can you now simulate generating data for needle insertion into tissue? I am working on it. I want to learn it from you.If it’s convenient for you, can I have your code for generating datasets?
Hi Xavier,
Can I use your code of basic simulation scene ? I have no idea to do it.

Hi guys,
How things are running on your end @xavierleorio?
Note that a team is developing a Cosserat plugin (line mechanical model following the Cosserat beam theory). This plugin handles needle modeling and should handle needle insertion. It could be worth looking at it.
Best wishes,
Hugo
