Dear Hugo,
thanks for your assistance!
I have tried to run runSofa and then the Modeler to follow the Tutorial; however, I have some problems with runSofa after step Creation of a Scene (3/9): from this point I am not able to see the examples and also during the first part I cannot see any spring or falling particles.
Do you know how can be possible?
Thanks,CeciliaBuilding

We are very sorry, the Modeler is not meeting the quality we would expect it to have. We are going to work on this, but this is a significant amount of work.
What do you mean exactly by not able to see the examples?
Small trick: if you have problems launching a scene, you can still start yourself the scene using runSofa ../src/examples/Tutorials/StepByStep/_the_scene_you_want_to_test.scnAbout the falling particle, could you tell me which scene of the tutorial exactly ?
Finally, another advice, you can have a look at the presentations recorded on YouTube. These presentations may help you in 1) understanding SOFA and 2) building your own simulation.
Cheers,
Hugo
PS: I created a new topic in the “Using SOFA” forum, since it is another question.
13 May 2016 at 12:32 #6738CeciBlockedDear Hugo,
I have problems with all the pendulum part, thus the very first one: nothing is shown in the scene, nor particles or springs; I have tried to open them following your tip, but it does not work actually for them, but works for the following part of the tutorial.
So to sum up:
– if I try to open the Pendulum tutorial part, runSofa starts, but nothing appear but the fixed pink particles. Also opening them directly from runSofa does not work.
– If I try to open tutorial scenes from Modeler, runSofa crushes, showing an error (reported below), but if I try to open them directly from runSofa it is ok.
– When I open the scenes directly in runSofa some of them do not work, so they do not do anything during the animation, even if they are supposed to do something. This is the errors that comes out when runSofa crushes.
Sorry for this, but I am not very expert in Ubuntu yet, so maybe I am doing something wrong and you can help me in some way!

Indeed, it seems there is several issues with the Tutorials in the Modeler, especially with the Pendulum. I would advise to look at the StepByStep instead of the Pendulum.
I will (very soon) take care of fixing the whole Tutorial.
Thank you, for your feedback.
I will let you know as soon as it is fixed.Cheers,
Hugo
