Hi guys, I was learning from the SoftRobots tutorials but some of them seem to have some errors, the Sofa version in which I tried these tutorials was the 19.something, more specifically the one that I can download from the SoftRobots webpage. Anyway, I came to the forum and realized that the new version (20.12) is now available and now I can use the STlib plug-in along with the SofaPython3 plug-in, right? My question is (since I really suffered when I try to install SofaPython3 2 months ago until I gave and just downloaded the binaries previously mentioned and also before building SOFA) do I need to build the SofaPython3 plug-in out-of-tree like I was told before? Or could I just build it in-tree like I could with SoftRobots and STlib? I ask this before doing the SOFA building trying to save some time in case I had some errors, Thanks in advance!!!
Binaries including SOFA + SoftRobots + STLIB … are not yet available. Our dev team works hard currently to make it available and usable from a python3 environment.
In the meantime, you can now compile waaayyyy more easily SOFA and SofaPython3. Actually SofaPython3 is now fetchable directly from the SOFA sources! In tree build will therefore work, aka a smoother experience for you!
Best wishes,
Hugo
