SOFA needs your support

Dear SOFA community,

We are burning the candle at both ends, working to make the open-source SOFA framework more robust every day. I’m asking you and your institution to take a minute to consider joining the SOFA Consortium as a member or making a donation to our open-source project.

Since the SOFA initiative started back in 2006 and until early 2017, the Inria research institute funded all development and maintenance efforts amounting to an investment of about 2M€. Launched in 2017, the SOFA Consortium is being incubated by Inria’s Foundation to gather partners willing to share the costs of an adequate staff working – for the good of everyone – on release management, code maintenance, quality improvement, community animation and one long-term development (currently the SOFA-NG project).

Our current members Inria and IHU Strasbourg are financially supporting us as Strategic Partners (20k€ each), but 80k€ are still missing to ensure the financial balance of the Consortium and ensure its missions.

We’re a young, independent and non-profit organization. If everyone using SOFA gave today, we could keep it thriving for years to come.
