Hi,
I have been trying to build STLIB out of tree to but constantly run into the CMake error Files may be invalid. The output log of CMake is also completely empty, stating:
The system is: Windows – 10.0.19042 – AMD64
Looking online, I have found this error to be associated with mismatching generator versions? The instructions for installing STLIB in the readme did not specify which version to use and I have tried every version to no avail and thus turning to the forums.
Best regards,

Hi,
I’m reopening this topic as it is somewhat relevant and the forum would not let me create another topic.
I’ve been having trouble integrating stlib into python, as I can import the plug-in no problem into runSOFA via the plug-in manager but then cannot run python code with the line “import stlib” within it.
I have been trying to fix this issue by following the instructions found on the stlib github’s readme.txt thinking that I had not installed STLIB correctly. I am currently running into CMake errors here and there.
However, I just realized that the readme file is 2 years old and am wondering whether or not this information is still relevant or whether or not I am just building the plug-in that is already imported into runSOFA and my problem lies elsewhere.
Best regards,
Geoffrey Liu
Hey @geofliu,
Are you using python 2 or python 3?
If you are using python 3 and its matching plugin SofaPython3, there are some issues with stlib3 and SofaPython3 that remains to be fixed. See for example
Issues with running examples on SOFA_v20.12.02_Defrost_Linux
I’m not sure what is the current state or future plans with respect to the compatibility of softrobots/stlib(3) and SofaPython3. With the upcoming SOFA release v21.06, maybe @guillaumeparan or someone from the consortium or defrost team could tell you a bit more.
Hi @jnbrunet,
Thank you very much for your help! So I have to use python2 to get STLIB to work? As someone who just started using SOFA, I hadn’t realized that Sofapython3 was so recently implemented.
Best regards,
Geoffrey Liu
