Home › Forum › SOFA › Building SOFA › [SOLVED] Ubuntu 14.04 + QtCreator
Hi, I was going through the tutorials and it mentions that QtCreator version 3.3.1 is available for Ubuntu 14.04 but that does not support qt5 and only qt4. Will this cause problems with compilation (What are the necessary steps to avoid problems?) or can I proceed without worrying about it?
Hi Naman,
Could you tell me where in the tutorials you noticed this, please ?
About SOFA, only Qt5 is officially supported (Qt4 should compile), thus allowing you to proceed without worries !
Cheers,
Hugo
“Ubuntu 14.04: default qtcreator cmake plugin is bugged, but you can easily install qtcreator 3.1.1 from this non-official repository [1] (Warning, it is using qt4 rather than qt5).”
I found this on the following web page in the second last section regarding QtCreator: https://www.sofa-framework.org/community/doc/getting-started/build/linux/
With the latest version of QtCreator, there shoudn’t be any trouble.
We need to update this indeed.
Thanks.
Okay. Thank you! 🙂
