I am very new to SOFA and XML as well. I wanted to ask where to write the xml script in Ubuntu and how to create a scn file. i know it is in the documentation, but it does not say where to enter the code.
i am sorry and i know this is silly, but i want to work on SOFA

Run the SOFA executable “runSofa path_to_the_scn_file”
Could you tell us what is your background exactly? A training session might be the most efficient way to start.
