Tagged: 64_bits, SOFA_1806, Where is the modeler, Windows_10
I downloaded and installed v18.12 for 64-bit and Python 2.7 on my system. SOFA seems to run fine, I can load scenes from the examples and tutorials and animate them. However, I do not see a button for the modeler, and there doesn’t appear to be any modeler.exe file installed in the SOFA directory under my user profile. Stumbling around I found what appears to be a great set of tutorials. They seem to be dependent on the modeler.
Have I not set up SOFA properly? I didn’t have to build anything, it seemed to install just fine just using the SOFA_v18.12.01_Win64.exe installer file. Was I supposed to perform additional steps to build other components and get the modeler installed as well? If not, then what is the appropriate workflow to get the tutorials working?
Dear @eyequest
Thank you very much for your interest in SOFA and welcome on the forum!
Sorry for the delay of reply but all the community is pretty busy currently.
The Modeler is actually deprecated since release v16.12 because it was becoming old and unstable. We have the project to rebuild a new version of a modeler, but as you can guess it takes a lot of time.
You should still be able to run the scn examples of these tutorials from runSofa though.
We stay at your disposal for any issue, question you may have with SOFA.
Best wishes,
Hugo
